Beyoncé Made a NYC Brewery's Beer Turn to Suds

It seems as though Beyoncé isn't exactly hoppy about the idea of having a beer named after her. New York City beer maker, Lineup Brewery, found out the hard way after creating an unauthorized German-style beer called Bïeryoncé.

The brewery owner, Katarina Martinez, is a huge Beyoncé fan and after missing the star's concert she thought it would be a cool idea to create a beer in her honor but little did she know, the Drunk In Love singer would clap back with a cease and desist letter.

Martinez said the refreshing pilsner was originally made for an Oktoberfest event and soon became so popular it was sold to several bars around NYC and gained a large following on the brewery's social media sites.

I'm guessing the name of this special brew isn't the only issue here. The beer can's label looks very similar to the lettering on Queen Bey's 2013 self-titled album, Beyoncé. What do you think?

After receiving the cease and desist letter on Monday, Martinez told Pitchfork as a Hispanic, female-run business, I am very inspired by her so I thought I'd pay homage... we're really disappointed she didn't take it as a compliment, but oh well. It was fun while it lasted!

While the clever Bïeryoncé beer can idea has been smashed and tossed in the barrel, the beer itself gets to keep its rockstar life, only this time the new can will be named Katarina after its owner.

Black History Month Celebrates Walter Payton!

Walter Jerry Payton was born on July 25, 1954. He was fondly known around the NFL and to fans as "Sweetness" because of his moves on the field and his kindness. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest running backs to ever play the game of football. The two-time MVP played with the Chicago Bears for thirteen years (1975-1982) and during his stellar career he scored 125 touchdowns (2nd most ever), 492 receptions, he accounted for a record 21,803 combined net yards and he was a consistent threat in the passing game. In thirteen years he only missed one game and that was during his rookie season in 1975. "Never Die Easy" was Walter Payton's motto.
